The Coral Mountain Interpretive Center is the result of a partnership between the Bureau of Reclamation and the Desert Recreation District. This will be the Valley’s first archeological park and will protect our rich history for generations. Scheduled to open in 2008, the Center will include interpretive trails, picnic areas and a learning center. The project encompasses 600 acres of which 123 acres will be designated for public access.

Park Ambassadors

We salute them

Civic Center Park in Palm Desert is home to our Park Ambassadors who provide service with a smile throughout the park. They are there to not only greet you but answer questions about the park, assist the city staff in the enforcement of their rules and help keep the park clean. If you have a question, comment, or just want to say hi, look for these ambassadors of goodwill on their Segway or in a District golf cart.

Park Ambassadors also provide the same great service at the city’s skate park where they ensure a family-friendly experience for everyone. We are proud of our Park Ambassadors and the service they provide to you. Please stop by and tell them how much you appreciate them, too.
